Ok, Tanner has been re-listed for adoption on the Reece's Rainbow website due to the delay we are having getting the needed document from hubby's step father...we are devastated of course, but I will not dwell on that now, as that just gets me to tears and that does our son no good...
Now, he is asking for $1000 dollars in exchange for the document. But, we do not have that kind of money lying around...so we are asking (geez, I really hate doing this!) if you have an extra few dollars, could you maybe chip in to help us get this most important document that we need in order to bring our little boy home? You can use the Chip In to the left if you are so inclined to help...if you cannot, we understand, and your prayers would be greatly appreciated!
One more thing. We must be quick...our paperwork expires in August, therefore, we need to submit in June, or ALL of the dossier must be done again, wasting precious time that Tanner does not have...he will be SIX in August, and will likely be sent to the mental intitution at that time. We just cannot allow that to happen.
Also, please spead the word...post on facebook, blog, twitter...if you would...for Tanner.

sorry but that sounds a little shaky to me...surely that can be received with paying a ransom. i would go to the authorites before ever even considering to give into that greedy demand.

ReplyDeleteOur process has been full of bumps and struggles and we are now almost 15 months from the date of commitment. Praying for you, FIL, and for Tanner. Surely you, me, and Cathy B will all be there holding our babies soon? That's what I'm believing for :)

ReplyDeleteHolding a document for ransom? Dispicable. You really should AT LEAST have a lawyer write him a strongly worded letter. You know our country is going downhill when we need to budget for bribes on this side of the ocean.

ReplyDeleteI know people can come up with lots of suggestions for how you could maybe get your FIL to do the right thing, but I also know time is not on your side and you NEED to get that paper NOW, so I have made a donation & will continue to pray that you get everything you need to go get Tanner. You can deal with your lousy FIL after the adoption is completed and Tanner is safely home.

SERIOUSLY? THATS EXTORTION...YOU COULDNT FIGURE OUT A WAY TO SAVE THIS CHILD IN A YEAR? A LAWYER, OR THE POLICE COULDNT TALK TO THIS MAN? IM SORRY BUT THIS IS NUTS. You have been called to be Tanner's Mommy & Daddy, and not even Satan will keep you from that as long as we rally together in God's name. Praying for his heart to change. And, um...I agree with the extortion part. Loyalty or not, that's NOT ok. Where's HIS loyalty to his son?
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh that is awful! I can't believe he is holding the document for $1000!! Does he absolutely have no heart?! I would be leery if he would even still turn the paperwork over after you gave him the money ... can you get a contract to make sure that happens? I was going to donate but noticed the chip in is just over $1000 now - is that for the document? Let me know if you have it all covered, otherwise I'll donate something. In the meantime will continue to pray that you bring your son home!
ReplyDeleteI agree make sure to get something in writing BEFORE you hand this man the money. Hopefully he can see that God wants you to have Tanner and you will do what you have to to bring him home, PLEASE LORD LET THIS MAN HAVE A CHANGE OF HEART AND GIVE YOU THE PAPER.
